Time in a bottle

The child is born.
Time is unlocked as if from a bottle.
It is first fed to the infant in drops.
When the infant becomes a child it hurriedly takes gulps.
The gulps are inadvertently spilled everywhere.
When the child becomes an adult it realizes the benefit of moderation.
When the adult reaches an abundance of years it seems the cork cannot be put back on the bottle.
It pours out on its own whether a drink is requested or not.

Time is no longer locked in a bottle to drink as we will.
Time keeps running forward with all of life’s thrills.

Savor each swallow whether it be bitter or sweet.
Savor each ingestion as you become strong and complete.
How much time is left in your bottle being the sole one on the rack?
Once it is poured out will you ever get it back?
