The art of the scar is a traditional (sound) art inherited, which is famous for a number of Arab tribes in the Arabian Gulf, represented by the Shihuh, Habous, Dhuhuris, and Bani Shamili, who are widely spread in the Sultanate of Oman and to a lesser extent in the United Arab Emirates. It radiates zeal and enthusiasm, expressing joy on joyful occasions, as well as expressing thanks and gratitude, and it is also the call of war and fighting when scarce. It also expresses the celebrations of welcoming the sheikh of the tribe, or upon the arrival of a distinguished visitor or guest, at popular weddings and national occasions, when eating at banquets held for any occasion, at war, and standing face to face with the enemy.
