Peter Lynch, the Chairman of the Lynch Federation and regarded as one of the top investors, is a Mutual Fund Manager and philanthropist. He managed the Fidelity Magellan Fund for 13 years, from 1977 to 1990, outperforming the S&P 500 by over twice that amount in 11 years, with an average annual return of over 29%. (ARR). When Lynch took over as manager of the Magellan mutual fund in 1977, it had $20 million in assets under management (AUM), and it eventually grew to $13 billion, making it the largest mutual fund in the world at the time.
