Episode 60: Irwin Cotler: Zionist regime asset
First Aired on 18 March 2023
The Israel lobby is working directly with the Canadian government and with big tech corporations to silence voices critical of its racist policies.
Last September, an international parliamentary committee met in Washington, DC, to demand that Twitter remove the account of Palestinian-Canadian Laith Marouf. Marouf is a multimedia producer and senior consultant at the Community Media Advocacy Centre in Canada. He has a long record of active support for Palestinian rights.
The Interparliamentary Task Force To Combat Online Antisemitism hearing was held on September 16 and heard from Twitter, YouTube, Meta, and TikTok executives.
The committee claims to be “bipartisan ” and contains parliamentarians from Israel, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK. The claim of “bipartisanship” is quickly scotched. All four South African members identify as Zionists and are in the Democratic Alliance, the racist party for whom most White South Africans vote. No African National Congress members are involved.
US members of the Task Force include Democratic Congresspersons Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who has visited Israel with AIPAC, and Ted Deutch, the CEO of the Zionist lobby group, the American Jewish Committee.
The British representatives are Andrew Percy, the Conservative MP who converted to Judaism partly because of “a wholehearted commitment to support of Israel,” and Alex Sobel, a longtime supporter of the Zionist Jewish Labour Movement (JLM).
Along with two Members of the Israeli Knesset (MK) was the former MK Michal Cotler-Wunsh. Widely respected journalist Gideon Levy has described her as “an expert on human rights, an enlightened intellectual” and “nationalist, racist, cruel.”
Well-known Canadian politician and jurist Irwin Cotler was also there. He is Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, a position receiving CA$ 5.6 million over five years beginning in 2022. He is also the stepfather of Michal Cotler-Wunsh MK.
Unsurprisingly, no representative of Arab or Palestinian origin was involved in the task force.
Laith Marouf has spent much of the past two decades combatting Zionist efforts to censor him. The first such instance happened at Concordia University in 2001 when he was the first Arab candidate elected to a student union executive in Canada. Within months of his appointment, he was “expelled summarily … for writing that ‘Zionism is Jewish Supremacy'”.
Back then, Irwin Cotler was an MP and already a Zionist partisan. Marouf’s comrades occupied his office, following which the police were called.
At the time, Cotler’s wife, Ariela, was also involved in the events. She was President of the board of Montreal Hillel. Hillel is the Zionist student organization on campus in Canada and the US. Before that, Ariela had been parliamentary secretary for Menachem Begin.
As we can see, Laith Marouf was censored by a dishonest lobby of Zionist ideologues masquerading as independent parliamentarians.
