Soon after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, U.S. President Joe Biden called for the removal of President Vladimir Putin, comments which were immediately walked back by his staffers.

Then Biden reiterated the sentiment and aides decided not to bother issuing corrections.

Now, a year later, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly is adding her voice to the chorus, insisting that Canada impose further restrictions on Russian imports, all in a fruitless effort to force Putin from power.
