It's But an Irish Blessing

It's but an Irish blessing, I send to each on St. Patrick's Day
to help you venture steps of life in a Hibernian sort of way,
To tip a mug of Irish cheer, and voice a loud, "Hear, Hear",
and share sentiments with friends considered most sincere.

It's but a Gaelic blessing, I send to each of you on this day,
as reminder of St. Patrick and convictions of his Holy way.
He carried messages of gospel truth for each and every man
to understand the eternal love of God and His salvation plan.

To Tara's Tor he went to teach Gauls in this green of land
and spread the word of Jesus he had come to understand.
The Druid priests knew only of Pagan ways from ages past,
so to hear the truth of God, its own spell did on them cast.

He confronted nonbelievers on Tara that he came to sway,
yet, he was undaunted as God's message he did thus convey.
Conviction of his words released chains on hardest of hearts,
and their spirits were thus pierced with truthful fiery darts.

It's but a Gaelic blessing, I send to each of you on this day.
St. Patrick was a noble man who from truth did never sway.
His belief in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit thus sent from God
was accepted by Lads and Lassies treading upon Irish sod.

Post Note: The legend of St. Patrick begins with his return to Ireland about 433 AD. St. Patrick used the Shamrock with its three leaves to explain the Trinity to The High King of Ireland, King Laoghaire, and many of The High Druid Priests, to convert them to Christianity. This laid a foundation for Celtic Christianity that has survived to this day.
