Referendum Results –Mail in Ballots are to be postmarked by tuesday, 3/14. Mail in ballots that are non post marked can be received up to 2 days after the election. Mail in ballots will be counted by Board of Elections. Count is sent to the Morris County Clerk. Provisional ballots (backup plan for those who did not receive their mail in ballots) are also to be counted, but only after all mail in ballots are counted. They have 6 days from the date of election to receive ballots which is 3/20. Per the Morris County Clerk, certification hopefully will be by 3/22. They probably will start counting provisional ballots on Monday, 3/20. This information is a summary of conversations with different people in the County Clerk's/Bd of Elections Office.
