The author and eight friends had a camping trip in North Eastern Oklahoma in 2008, in a wooded area within the Cherokee reservation. At around 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning, a tall, gray figure appeared in front of one of the friends while they were walking on a trail. The figure was described as having a cloudy appearance, with long arms and legs, black hollow eyes and no mouth or nose. The group of nine was frozen and unable to move, some crying and others keeping their heads down while they were being watched by the figure. The figure then moved slowly into the woods and hovered over a rock wall before disappearing into the darkness. The group never talked about the incident until 15 years later, but they all recall the experience vividly. They went back to the spot several times at night, but never saw anything again. The author questions if what they saw was real or just a case of mass hysteria.
