Persimmon Jam Recipe

This is a wonderful way to use Persimmons, make a delicious Persimmon Jam. Try this Jam with Pfannkuchen, Pancakes or on a great slice of Bread or Biscuits.

Persimmon Jam
Ingredients:
6 Persimmons,
3/4 cup Sugar,
1/4 cup Brown Sugar,
1/4 tsp Salt,
1 tsp Nutmeg,
1 Lemon (Zest & Juice)

Wash, remove stems and chop the Persimmons.
Combine Persimmons with Sugar, Brown Sugar, Salt, Nutmeg and the Zest & Juice from a Lemon. Mix well.
Pour Mixture in a medium sized pot, cover and bring to a boil. Cook covered for 20 Minutes, stirring frequently. Remove the lid and simmer for extra 10 Minutes to thicken the Jam.
Remove from heat and mash to your liking.
Cool and fill Jars.
Makes approximately 30oz. of Persimmon Jam.
