Taking shelter from Typhoon Nesat, kinda 🇹🇼

When a typhoon tries to destroy your holiday, what do you do? Well, stay indoors would be good advice, so that’s what I did. Mostly. Since I’m in Taiwan only for less than a week, I didn’t want to let an entire day go to waste by simply staying indoors.

Today I visited a flower market and a jade market that are only opened during weekends, so lucky me it was a Sunday what was chosen by typhoon Nesat to dump some 1000 millimeters of water over parts of Taipei. Even more rain fell just north of where I was, imagine that! I myself only had flood warnings on my phone though. And oh, my shoes and socks were wet at the end of the day.

Most of this day I spent indoors in the sprawling tunnel system directly below and around Taipei’s main station. There are shops almost everywhere along these underground corridors. I also found a locations where some of the quarter of a million Indonesians in Taiwan gather.

Subscribe for the full video out this Sunday! See you there!
