Here are five acceptable liquids you can drink during a fast that won't increase your blood sugar or insulin levels and won't cause cravings.

Number one is water. Really important to stay well hydrated during your fast. Also, I recommend taking a pinch of good sea salt.

The sea salt provides electrolytes. It's actually going to give you energy. You're actually excreting a lot of sodium and a lot of different electrolytes, and that can actually cause you to have headaches, to feel fatigued, and to have brain fog.

So taking a little bit of salt and water is really powerful during a fast. Number two is herbal tea. Some herbal teas have caffeine.

You may not metabolize caffeine well, but herbal tea can generally be really beneficial. Number three is going to be lemon juice or lime juice. Just a little bit of that in water can be really beneficial, especially like warm lemon or lime juice. Number four is apple cider vinegar.

That can actually be really beneficial. It's not going to break it fast, actually increases autophagy. Number five is black coffee. Now, here's the caveat. If you're a slow caffeine metabolizer, if you feel irritable or crave it, don't consume it.

But black coffee, no sweetener, can actually increase autophagy and fat burning.

So this answers the question: What Should You Drink During Fasting?
