Gearbox Issue On Our DEWALT ATOMIC Compact Series 20V Brushless 1/2" Drill/Driver DCD794

We were looking forward to the review of the DEWALT ATOMIC Compact Series 20V Brushless 1/2" Drill/Driver (DCD794). Unfortunately, our drill had some issues inside the gearbox. After some disassembly, there was either an issue with the spring pressure or the machining of the gears where the speed selector was located. I am sure we rounded off some gears in our testing, so it is hard to say if it is an issue with the gear from the factory or an issue with the spring pressure.

Either way, this is how it goes once and a while. We will get a new drill and get back to testing.
