It’s Saturday morning and I guess I should be in here busy making my boxes but I felt like this is a story I needed to share. I see so many people with the believe that the only measure of success is making money in their business when all they need to do to be successful in concentrate on this one thing. The only thing that will make you a successful person.
Now, This video will not be right for everyone. But if you want the secret to being successful as someone who makes things for other people, then you need to make sure you watch.

I’m a former Trooper, and now a Deputy. I want to tell you how a tragic accident car accident changed my family’s life.
This accident changed the way I do woodworking, and has led to changing the lives of others around me. This has really come as a complete shock to me. So let me share my story with you.

They say you’re only a phone call away from your knees. Truer words have never been spoken.
I married into a close nit family. Robbin, my wife had two great children when we married. Brittany and Ryan. They did everything together. Through thick and thin they are always together.
So, I’m at work one day. It was a day like any other. A Co-Worker and I are busy working and my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and see that it’s Robbin. I look at it, realize that I’m on hold with the “helpdesk” and that if I answer this I may lose my place in line, so I send it to voice mail. She calls right back…She never does that. Since that wasn’t normal, I answered it. Robbin was a little freaked out but told me that Ryan had been in an accident while away at college and that she and her Mother were getting into the car and headed that way. Given her demeanor during the call I tell her I am leaving. I say three words to my co-worker “Hey! I’m gone! And with that I’m running to my car. Robbin calls back and tells me that she just got another call and it’s not good and that we need to hurry. So I tell her that to meet me at the rest area and leave their car there and I will drive.
The difference in where we are and where Ry had his accident is over 80 miles away. The rest area is not far so I get there first. I was there waiting for Robbin and it was killing me. It felt like I was there for an hour but it couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes. I am not even sure their car stopped before they were getting out of it.
Now that we are in the car together it was time for me to put those Trooper skills to work.
(TOP GUN clip, Do some of that Pilot Stuff) I was working lights and the nose of the car to make sure we didn’t lose speed and time in order to get there. Along the way her brother Bobby calls….Hurry, Just hurry! Now I am ready to do whatever it takes to get us there…FAST!
I was told where to go once we got there at the hospital so that I was able to get Robbin right to the door where Bobby and his Lt. were located. I pull up, Bobby opens the door and Robbin is out and headed toward the ER backdoor.
Now, let me go back to the phone call from Bobby. What I didn’t say about the phone call was that he handed the phone to the Doctor so that he could speak to Robbin. Robbin says hello and except for the roar of me driving the shit out of the car you could hear a pin drop and I am hanging on every word that she is saying. The Doctor is doing most of the talking and since Robbin is an ER nurse I know she understands it all. Then I hear it. That sound I can never get out of my head. It has to be the sound that a Mother makes when a child is being ripped away. After that all I hear her say is “Please keep him alive until I can get there.”
I walk into the ER and Robbin holding onto Ry for dear life and he is hooked up to everything in there. The Doctor did what she asked. We made the 80 mile trip so we could say goodbye…
