1917 Eggless Mayonnaise Dressing

One pint of milk,
One tablespoon corn starch,
One level teaspoon mustard,
One-half teaspoon salt,
One-fourth teaspoon paprika,
One teaspoonful butterine,
One capsule of butterine coloring matter.
Bring the milk to the boiling point, dissolve the mustard, corn starch, salt, and paprika in cold water, add to the boiling milk, then the butterine with coloring matter. Beat thoroughly.
