Coyote Encounter Blue Mountain Reservation Westchester County NY

Coyote encounter while hiking with my dog. The coyote may have been protecting a den as it was just before noon. I could not see the coyote and thought it might be a dog at first. When I moved towards the barking the coyote came down the ridge to meet us. Clearly being protective or curious of my dog.
