It all began in 1992 as an idea between 4 friends in a basement in Ajax, Ontario when founding members of Klymaxx sound Garry Edwards, Gary Taylor, Slick & Sledge with the help of Ricky trooper from Killamanjaro decided to launch Klymaxx Sound. In 1993 the sound would have its first opportunity on the battlefield against a sound called Lexus.
Surprised by the number of dubs the young sound had Lexus was handily defeated. In that same year, Linden from Soul Action joined the sound which now made Klymaxx into a juggling sound with Gary selecting & Linden as the MC making an impact Klymaxx continued juggling with Sounds from jamaica like Killamanjaro, Pieces, Stone Love & with Toronto's top sounds king Turbo, Digital, Red Flame, Hi Tek and clashed sounds like Diplomat, Heavyweight and Desert Storm just to name a few. After a couple of years on the scene, it was time for Klymaxx sound to step out of Toronto and start juggling in places like Montreal, Ottawa and NYC juggling with Sounds such as Tek9 and Illusions.

In 1996 Klymaxx had to take a pause from the music scene due to unforeseen circumstances, however, in the year 1997 something big would happen that would change the face of the sound forever! Squidly and Specialist joined the sound that year and continued to juggle the sound playing in places like Detroit with King Harmony and in 1998 juggling in Jamaica with Venus sound. From 1998 to 2007 Klymaxx became known as a menace to the business always ready and willing to clash with all contenders but there were very few.
Finally In 2007 Klymaxx sound entered their first official sound clash named Canadian idol, Durham cup clash. DesertStorm, Silver Bullet, Eternaty, King Chaplin were also the participants. Between 2008 & 2011 Klymaxx continued to juggle with sounds like Chinese Assassin, Champion Squad, Stone Love and Toronto's best.

In 2011 klymaxx entered fully loaded clashing sounds such as Outcast, Don Rankin, Super Gold and SoulSurvival. 2012 Klymaxx clashed Lexus Supreme and Super Gold in No Way Out, where they would win all the rounds but lose in tune fi tune to Lexus Supreme by time falter. 2013 Klymaxx sound was in a clash called Rising Stars, where once again they would win all rounds but lose in tune fi tune. Klymaxx, now well seasoned in the clash arena decided to enter a round robbin clash called King of the Ring. Klymaxx won the first round by default & Super force was locked off in the second round and Klymaxx would advance to the finals.

Still, in the same year December 6th, 2013 Klymaxx defeated 9 sounds to win Fully Loaded. Six days later Klymaxx was at war again for the King of the Ring finals. This is where Klymaxx defeated Super Gold and Cumtraxx to take home the King of the Ring trophy, winning 2 clashes in the span of 7 days a feat that no sound in Canada has yet to accomplish. Winning King of the Ring had earned Klymaxx the right to clash with Young Hawk the raining Dub fe Dub champion but due to unfortunate circumstances, Young hawk sound had to drop out of Dub fe Dub and would have to be replaced with Innocent Sound. This clash was called Dub fe Dub part 3 and took place May 17th 2014 when Klymaxx sound would lock off Innocent and Total Eclipse in four rounds.

In the span of May 2013 to May 2014 Klymaxx sound made 17 duppy and claimed the titles of reining Fully Loaded and Dub fe Dub champs. In 2016 Klymaxx made their first appearance in the Canada rumble placing 3rd while gaining the respect of the fans with their energetic performance. Later on, in that same year, Klymaxx clashed against Blunt posse in a one vs one dubbed “BoarderLock Soundclash” it was a heated battle with many new tunes being played unfortunately due to time constraints it ended in a draw in tune for tune.

2017 saw the beginning of SoWhatSaturdayz The real Deal sounds weekly hot party in their home turf Durham, So what Saturdays is important to what Klymaxx does because it allows the sound to push the music to a broader audience growing the reach of Dancehall music in the community. Ending 2017 with a “BANG” is exactly what Klymaxx did winning the 2017 SoundRage Trophy in a lock-off performance against Yared and Xixgon sound. In 2018 Klymaxx the Real Deal once again entered Canadian Rumble only to be the runner up in a hard-fought Rapid Fire..
In 2019 Kymaxx would finally be victorious in the Canada rumble defeating Majestic Vybz in Rapid Fire to represent Canada in World Clash The End.. To date, the active Klymaxx members are Squidly, Specialist, Gary Taylor, Bugzy Killa & Fada Digital.
