Hello, friends of the channel.
We have arrived in Maricá, a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, neighboring Niterói to the south and Saquarema to the north, located xx km from Rio de Janeiro, and which has several tourist attractions and natural beauties. Maricá has over 40 km of coastline with various beaches to explore, including Recanto de Itaipuaçu, where we started our tour of the city today. If you want to know more, come with me.

Recanto Beach is one of the best-known and most visited beaches in Itaipuaçu, located in the municipality of Maricá, RJ, about 42 km from downtown Rio de Janeiro. The beach is approximately 1.5 km long, with clear, fine sand and crystal-clear waters. On its left corner, it is a calm beach, ideal for families, with few waves and a mild current. It offers good infrastructure, with several kiosks that sell food and drinks and rent chairs and umbrellas. There are also public restrooms and showers for visitors. In addition to enjoying the beach, visitors can practice water sports such as stand-up paddle and kayaking, which can be rented at some kiosks. There is also a small trail that leads to a lookout point with a view of the beach. It is important to remember that, as with all beaches, it is necessary to take care when entering the sea and follow safety recommendations, such as respecting signage and avoiding swimming in areas with strong currents.

Recanto Beach is located at the foot of Elephant Hill. It has a stone pier that extends into the sea and a long strip of sand with thick sand that does not stick to the body, where there are improvised kiosks in the homes of residents. It is a pleasant corner to sunbathe in Itaipuaçu. Located between Itaipuaçu and Itacoatiara beaches, Elephant Rock is the highest point in the Serra da Tiririca State Park, a conservation area that covers the municipalities of Maricá and Niterói with the aim of preserving and protecting the region's unique biodiversity and resources. The location is suitable for ecotourism activities such as hiking and trails. The average distance is 1.5 km, completed in an average of two hours, but the trail is considered heavy, requiring strong physical conditioning from the visitor. At the end of the walk, it is possible to contemplate the view of the entire Itaipuaçu coastline. We suggest using an accredited guide for the heavy trail. Also known as Serrinha Lookout, the place is right on the border between Maricá and Niterói and, in addition to being a contemplation site, marks the beginning of the famous trail to Elephant Rock. There are two long-range lunettes here to contemplate the natural beauty of the city, where you can see the entire extension of the Maricá coastline and the green slopes of the park created to protect its natural beauty. Recanto de Itaipuaçu is a very pleasant place with lots of greenery and tranquility, located right next to Serra da Tiririca, which is an access road to Itaipu. The nightlife in the area is also very pleasant, with several options of bars to have dinner, have a beer and listen to live music. Furthermore, it's a very peaceful place.

We are Luiz, Diva, and Gabriel Lunardelli, a family from Santa Catarina, and we make up the Expedition Brazil Facing the Sea, whose objective is to document the Brazilian coast through photos and videos, showcasing the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the communities that live in the region, and carrying out various social and environmental actions. Our journey began in 2019 at the southernmost point of Brazil, in Barra do Arroio Chuí, and we are traveling northward, with our ultimate goal being the mouth of the Oiapoque River, in Amapá. We have already traveled thousands of kilometers and have recorded more than 500 different beaches, whose videos can be watched on this channel. We believe that our project is an important initiative for the promotion of sustainability and environmental preservation, as well as a way to value the culture, tourism, and natural heritage of Brazil. Therefore, we hope to earn your like and subscription to our channel. Thank you very much for joining us on our journey, and see you tomorrow in our next video.
