110kg 5x5 Bench Press

110kg for 5x5 today.

At the commencement of today's session I was genuinely feeling lhysically tired and mentally weak. Yesterday's deadlifting has taxed my posterior chain and I hobbled into the gym.

Warming up, 60kg felt heavier than I expected it to and my mind started to question if I had slipped backwards on my bench.

I slapped myself around a bit, told myself to man up. One last warmup with single on 100kg to feel the weight before I headed 110kg for an attempt at 5x5.

I managed four of the sets with the fifth set only able to do 4 reps.

Pleasantly, I then looked back at my bench in the run up to AWE and realised my last 5x5 effort was only on 100kg, and I'd previously also done a 5x3 on 105kg.

So I guess I'm not getting weaker 😄. Crazy how the mind plays games.
