Award winning teacher arrested for sexual abuse.

An elementary school teacher in California, Jacqueline Ma, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a former student. Ma, a 34-year-old sixth-grade teacher, was charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and three counts of oral copulation with a child under 14. She was arrested on the school campus after a concerned mother contacted the National City Police. The district was only aware of one victim, who is no longer a student in the district. Ma was booked into Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility. She was one of five teachers who received Cox Communication’s 2022-2023 ‘San Diego County Teacher of the Year” award. Ma is expected in court on March 14.
