Brett, along with his two 19-year-old friends Shaun Blowers & Ashley Mcglough, departed from their homes on Sunday, December 21, 2003, at 11:40 am. After an hour-long drive, they reached their preferred quad bike racing spot, located in the southwestern part of the Kangaroo Flats, on the border of Litchfield National Park.

The trio frequented this location and had to pass through a landscape of the aforementioned eucalyptus trees, pandanus palms, mangrove trees, and massive termite mounds before arriving at the flat salt plains, an ideal area for quad biking.

Shaun, one of Brett's friends, claimed that he knew the area well since he had been camping there with his family since the age of five, and he had never seen any signs of crocodiles...
Little did he know, that fact was about to change in a big way.
This is the horrifying story of the saltwater crocodile attack which saw the life of Brett Mann come to a tragic end.
