If you've ever been to an auction, you know the difference between emotional and logical values. Auction items go for "normal" (logical) prices until two or more people become entrenched in a bidding war, (emotional bidding) which drives the prices through the roof.

The same thing can happen in the automotive world. What might seem sensible to a buyer quickly goes out the window when there is a low volume, discontinued car's ownership at stake. The rarer the spec of a heartfelt car, the higher the price usually goes. Where in this equation does reason and balance get found? Youthful dreams can lead to empty wallets if you're not careful!
