1. A Ukrainian drone has attacked the waterfront in Energodar with incendiary bombs, the head of the military-civilian administration, Eduard Senovoz, said on Wednesday.

"The Ukrainian army’s drone attacked the city's waterfront with incendiary ammunition. A fire broke out on an area of four hectares to spread along a high voltage line that provides electricity for the city and the water pumping facility," Senovoz said on his Telegram channel.

According to the mayor, although there is a risk of another UAV attack, the fire-fighting service, the National Guard, and the military continue to fight the fire.

"There is no threat to the operation of the Zaporozhye NPP," Senovoz said.

He stressed that the purpose of these "criminal actions is to destabilize the situation," as well as to breed fears and panic among civilians.

Energodar’s ZNPP is largest nuclear power plant in Europe. It was put under the control of Russian forces at the end of February 2022. Ukrainian forces army periodically shell both the residential areas of Energodar and the ZNPP premises. Russia has repeatedly drawn the international community’s attention to these strikes by Kiev’s forces.

2. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday offered the world body's mediation services in potential talks to demilitarize the area around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev.

"Safety and security around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is also vital. I believe that a possible mediation to seek the full demilitarization of the area, while ensuring that the plant can return to normal operations, would also be important," Guterres told reporters.
