Climbing Arborist Podcast #27 - with Zane Wedding

Zane Wedding is an arborist from New Zealand. We start off our chat talking about the current situation of COVID-19. Zane talks about his entry into the industry and the amazing and talented arborists he was lucky enough to be surrounded by very early on and throughout his career (including Andy Neverman, Dale Thomas, Scott Forrest, and many more) . Zane talks about helicopter jobs in N.Z. and in particular the first time he was given the opportunity to be a climber on a heli job at just 19 yrs old. Zane is big into the climbing competition scene and he talks a lot about how it has developed him as a climber, and how he encourages so many new people into competitions. Zane has now taken his career in the direction of a teaching role where he teaches young people the practical portion of arboriculture and draws upon his own experiences from being a young person coming out of school that needed a little direction and to be challenged.
