The Tata Group's Air India has made multi-bilLion
dollar deals with Airbus and Boeing to purchase 470
passenger aircraft, making it the largest shopping
event in commercial aviation history. The deal, worth
Over $85 billion, includes 250 Airbus and 220 Boeing
planes, with an option to purchase 70 More, and is
set to signiticantly improve India's image on the
global platform as an emerging Leader in the
commercial aviation sector. Us President Joe Biden
hailed the agreement, saying it will support over one
milLion American jobs. The narrow-body aircraft
include 140 A320 planes and 70 A321ne0 ones, while
the wide-body aircraft will be used for ultra-long
fLights. The acquisition is expected to win back some
of the market share Air India has Lost over the
years to Gulf and western airlines.
