Someone was looking for Su-24 night refueling, I have them. Hold. There are fewer nighttime refuelings on TV for several reasons.
1st. Human factor. Journalists are not interested in running around at night with their strays, setting up cameras and generally working. Like all normal people in general. It's much easier to take a picture during the day and piss off in the text, something like "the crews worked out refueling day and night in the most difficult meteorological conditions" and go drink beer.
2nd. Technical moment. There is no light, it’s difficult to shoot, you can’t see, the picture is not interesting.
All perhaps. The level of FBash crews allows you to refuel both day and night without any problems. So, if earlier refueling was a manifestation of some kind of upper skill, today it is the usual work of the FB. Not too easy, but not too difficult either. Generally normal.
We use the same refueling principle as in the video. That is, the pilot of the refueling aircraft himself sticks into the cone. (a cone is such a shuttlecock at the end of a flexible fuel hose that is more or less stable in the air stream.)
The "partners" use the same method and method where the tanker operator steers the fueling rod and sticks it into the aircraft being refueled, and the pilot only keeps the aircraft in a given zone.
