Belgian Farmers Are Furious - Here's Why

Farmers in Belgium completely shut down the streets in Brussels on march 3, to have their voices heard. As in other countries, they may feel that climate policies disproportionately impact their industry and that they new rules come so fast, they can't keep up with having to make new investments in order to comply with the regulations.
And goverment political parties can't agree on the conditions of the new carbon agreement, making the future uncertain.

They may also be concerned about the competitiveness of their products in the face of imports from countries with less stringent climate regulations, and cheaper prices in general.
