Wood Turning: Not what I Meant to Make!!

I had a very different plan in mind for this project, but the piece fought me the whole way. No matter what I did, I had a lot of trouble getting a clean cut on the bottom half, so eventually I changed my plan and made this flying saucer looking thing. I had a somewhat unusual idea for what I was going to make, so hopefully I can get it to work on a future woodturning video.
