This video is on tying the March Brown English version and the Male version. Yes, there is a female version and both are in Ray Bergman's Trout (page 437, Plate #5). At first I wanted to do a video on both the male and female version but then I realized the female version is simply a lighter colored version without the tip. It is a simply little wet fly that is very productive, especially in the early months of the fishing season. The original recipe calls for Brown Turkey in the wing but I chose some darker Pheasant Hen as my turkey tail feathers are kind of beat up. I imagine you could substitute some speckled hen for the Partridge if you did not have any and the fly would work just as well. - - Enjoy
