Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre holds a news conference on Parliament Hill to discuss the Liberal government’s recent legislation to delay by one year the expansion of assisted dying eligibility to those suffering solely from a mental illness. He is joined by Conservative MP Ed Fast, who has introduced a private member's bill (C-314) to remove the expansion for mental illness, and Senator Denise Batters. The Conservative leader also faces questions about alleged foreign interference in Canadian federal elections and reiterates his calls for a independent public inquiry on the allegations. He is also asked aobut three of his MPs who met in Canada with German politician Christine Anderson, a member of a right-wing party known for its Islamophobic and anti-immigrant views.
