In this Blindspot we cover:
- Several indications that not only has the war in Ukraine been escalating, but, that the global fall-out thereof is pointing to more than a Cold War 2.0 taking shape. We will use South Africa, and Africa as a case.

- US House adopts countering malignant Russian influence in Africa Bill (as already covered in Blindspot…)

- A flurry of high-level diplomatic and bilateral visits - eg Ramaphosa to White House, Blinken to South Africa, Lavrov to South Africa, EU foreign policy chief to South Africa, and Yellen - US Treasury Secretary to South Africa - all of these, except Lavrov visit, warning South Africa about its stance on the conflict, and possible repercussions of not towing the western line

- Then the Russian Federation, South Africa and China engaged in joint naval drills, leading to a US warning statement issued that it rejects, in strongest possible terms these drills

- And, China, coincidentally, released a new strategic document, citing the critical importance not just of Africa, but, specific issues in/of Africa that requires attentions and global collaboration.

- What does this all mean? How Africa is one of the most critical ‘second’ level staging grounds of the ongoing, WWIII dynamic!
