TEST - When the flow of thoughts slows down, stop. Take a good look at what you have written. Not every thought comes from God. So we need to test our thoughts. Here is where the written record helps us to be able to look at them.

o Are these thoughts completely honest, pure unselfish and loving?

o Are these thoughts in line with our duties -- to our family -- to our country?

o Are these thoughts in line with our understanding of the teachings found in our spiritual literature?

This series explores the Oxford Group pamphlet “How to Listen to God.” Written in the late 1930’s by Ohio based Chaplain John Batterson, it summarizes the original practice of Two Way Prayer.

The pamphlet circulated widely in Akron, Ohio among AA’s early members and was reintroduced to the recovery community largely through the tireless efforts of AA archivist Wally P. originator of the popular Back to Basics series that takes newcomers through the 12-Steps in 4-week sessions.
