Frank Quintas had worked for United Airlines since 1989. He had a "great career" for 32 years until covid when United mandated covid vaccinations. Quintas decided to apply for a religious exemption. Then, Quintas learned about what he would have to sacrifice as the company was putting those with religious exemptions on indefinite unpaid leave - no access to his 401(K), and no health and life insurance. Quintas chose to retire leaving behind a job he loved at the age of 61. Quintas now flies for a smaller corporate company.

Kevin Campbell has alway loved airplanes from an early age. He wanted to be a pilot and mechanic as a child. Campbell worked his way up in the industry until he graduated to United - his dream job. He joined United in 1984. Over this 37 years with United in San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Victoriville, and Tupelo.

On August 31, 2021, Campbell applied for a religious exemption. Campbell was finally approved on October 7, 2021 after being denied and threatened with termination three different times. His approval included not only an exemption for the vaccination, but United agreed Campbell was not required to be tested and that Campbell would be able to operate in "normal activity with no discrimination, harassment, intimidation, separation or segregation."

United officials breached their own agreement with Campbell. Campbell reached out to the Teamsters union and his local manager. He received no help. This ordeal resulted in Campbell not even being able to take care of his disabled son's funeral expenses. Campbell has not been able to collect unemployment.
