A nice quiet dinner with a lovely lady turns dark.

The Adventures of Philip Marlowe was a radio series featuring Raymond Chandler's private eye. Despite the show's popularity, it had no sponsor for most of its run (though Ford Motor Company and Wrigley's Gum sponsored it at times). Raymond Chandler had no connection with the scripting of the program, and was reportedly "moderately pleased" with Gerald Mohr's portrayal of Marlowe.
