China Joining Russia for War While Germany Prepares to Leave NATO WW3 Is Here
'WW3 could start' Russia and China may JOIN FORCES against US, North Korea expert warns
WORLD War Three could start in East Asia, a North Korea expert has claimed as he branded the region “extremely dangerous”.
As tensions threaten to spill over between the US and North Korea, one expert claims the volatile region could explode at any moment with the world on the brink of war.
With Donald Trump threatening to take a tough line on Russia and China, expert Professor Rudiger Frank warned the two superpowers could join forces to unite against the White House.
Dr Frank, an expert on North Korea and East Asia, told German magazine Focus: “The Americans have been able to drive a wedge between the then Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China since the 1970s.
“But now the US is facing both countries relatively aggressively. Russia and China have a common opponent who unites them.”
China, Pyongyang’s major ally, has said military force will not resolve tensions over North Korea with a US aircraft carrier group currently heading toward the Korean peninsula in an effort to deter Kim Jong un from conducting a nuclear test.
The US has around 28,500 troops currently stationed in South Korea with the two allies regularly carrying out military exercises.
Dr Frank said ongoing tensions over the South China Sea and Taiwan could make the situation worse.
He said the region was extremely dangerous due to ongoing tensions with a risk of a third world war breaking out.
US president Donald Trump will also play an important role. Dr Frank said: “Trump says one thing today and does another tomorrow. And this is dangerous.”
Last week Mr Trump launched 59 missiles to bomb a Syrian airbase suspected of launching a chemical attack in Idlib.
North Korea has vowed to defend itself if it comes under attack.
Dr Frank said: “Should a missile fly to North Korea, they will push all the buttons they have, and shoot back with everything that is available to them.”
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said: “Whoever provokes the situation, whoever continues to make trouble in this place, they will have to assume historical responsibility.”
South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se told parliament in Seoul he believed Washington would consult Seoul if it was considering a pre-emptive strike.
It comes as Washington-based think tank 38 North, which monitors North Korea, warned satellite images show activity around North Korea’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site on the east coast indicates it could be ready for a new test.
