ONE year on from the invasion of Ukraine, Russia is gearing up for its next phase of escalation.

Things haven’t played out as Putin has expected so far and now the West is set to provide tanks, ammunition and more weapons to aid Ukraine in its defence.

With Russia expected to launch a full scale offensive, targeting the Donbas region, the next six months could hold more surprises and prove pivotal.
