Night Driving In A Winter Snow Storm On Unplowed Roads And A Surprise

Last night I got caught in another winter snow storm. I was out with my truck helping a friend move to a new apartment. But it was snowing badly all day. At night the visibility was poor at times and the secondary roads had not yet been plowed.

The snow can be pretty when it flies right at the windshield like this. You can see it flying right at you. It sort of looks like you are flying through stars at warp speed.

I figured my viewers in warmer climates might appreciate this video. They dont get to see snow much let alone drive in it.

I had my truck in 2wd to save gas and wear on it though. I did not yet feel the need for 4wd until I got home. The lane going through the meadow to my home in the woods had not been plowed at all yet. So I had to put it down into 4 wheel drive to get the last bit of the way home.

The surprise is that my old forklift battery is finally out of the bed of my truck. A friend from church was here on Saturday to help me get it out. Then ManOfMany Thingz arrived and helped as well.

We got the battery out of the truck using my engine hoist and put it down on some cement blocks to keep it off the ground. This will also allow me to get the hydraulic hoist underneath it again when I am ready to pull out the rest of the battery cells.
