Sunny Day And Lots Of Progress At The Off Grid Project N2

Finally the sun was shining and I got a lot of work done at the off grid homestead. I am working on the kitchen counters now.

I started out the day with the idea of processing all the acorns I picked up a while back. But they were suddenly full of worms. I had to dump them out and sort through the good ones.

I will process the acorns later on then and make some bread with them.

I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon hours helping a neighbor with a move and helping someone with a lot of questions about solar panels and solar heating.

It was about 3 pm before I finally picked up the camera for the first time in the day.

The sun was shining brightly and the solar panels were pumping out some power. My battery bank in the RV was boiling furiously and the MPPT charge controller was equalizing the battery bank. This means that the batteries get a higher voltage to boil the water and dislodge the sulfation off the battery plates.

I worked on the side of the kitchen cabinets in my tiny house. This meant cutting the pallet wood and then running it through the planer to take off the dirty wood. Then I sized each board to fit my cabinet and used my brad nailer to fasten it in place.

I finished the side of the cabinets beside the entry door of my tiny home. That was the goal for this day. I will be working on the front facing and the cabinets above the counter soon.

After the sun went down I checked on the RV battery bank to find some bad news. The batteries were down to 12.1 volts. This means that they are not holding a charge at all anymore.

In the evening I was splitting some more logs for firewood. I need to process a lot more wood for winter heating this year.
