Why I Have No Solar Power At The Off Grid Homestead Right Now N5

There is a lot of discussion about why I have no solar power at The Off Grid Project this time of year. I explain it all in detail with clear video.

This is the time of year when I suffer the most for solar energy. Right now the sun is low in the sky and the leaves are still on the trees. This is the time when I have no usable solar power for my tiny house and off grid homestead.

Right now is also bad for wind energy because there is very little wind blowing at this time. Soon, after the leaves drop, I will have a lot of solar and wind energy though. With the leaves off the trees, the wind blows through the woods, right at my meadow in full force.

Right now though the leaves are blocking the sunlight from reaching my solar panels. I only get sun on my solar panels from the hours of 12 pm to 3 pm at this time. In a few more weeks that will change and the sun will shine on my solar panels again.

Many people suggest putting the solar panels on the roof of my tiny home but this is not a good idea because I get even less sunlight on the tiny home. Plus the roof is facing North, not South and the solar panels would not get much energy.

With the tiny house hidden among the trees it is also a bad place to have a wind turbine mounted. Wind turbines need an unhindered flow of wind with no turbulence for best performance. Trees and buildings cause turbulence.

I need to get the wind turbines up in the air in the middle of the meadow and do it soon.

I have lived here at this place for about three years now and I know that the best place for my solar panels is right where they are now. It is awkward to move them around to face the sun because of the leaves on the trees. The sun is only hitting the meadow in patches and that moves every few minutes. It would literally be a full time job to keep the solar panels in the sun until after the leaves fall off the trees.

Most off grid homes have way less trees and a lot more sun hitting their solar panels at all times of the year. It is not normal to be living in the middle of the woods on solar power. So, yes, my solar power situation is not normal and I have problems.

I hope this clears things up a bit about my solar situation.
