Monday we got hit with some heavy snow. It never stopped snowing all day. I only pulled in a total of 20 watts for the day. Yes that is 20 watts total in the entire day.

I went to sweep off the solar panels and minutes later they were fully covered in snow again.

It took me a good hour to get to the solar panels though with the snow blower.

I had to first dig out the snow blower in the morning before I could run that. My front porch was buried so I had to dig out the snow shovel by hand to dig out the snow blower.

After cleaning off the porch and snow blower I got that running and warmed up.

I made a path to the chickens so that I can get in there to clean out the snow with a shovel. One improvement for next year is to widen the chicken run doorway so I can get larger equipment inside such as a snow blower in the future.

I had to clear off all my paths through the off grid homestead twice due to all the heavy snow falling.

It was touch work and I took breaks inside - not to warm up - but to cool down. I was sweating pretty badly out there working.

What some people dont realize is that the number of heart attacks greatly increases in winter due to snow shoveling. It is hard work and you can get overheated in winter when working so hard.

So you still must take a lot of breaks when working so you can cool down or you can die.

I shoveled out the chickens at about 8:30 am but that is a separate video which has a surprise in it. Hope you like it.
