Awesome Tiny House Reclaimed Lumber Coat Rack And DC Wiring
In the evening the other day I had some energy left over after running around outside the whole day. I finished the reclaimed barn wood coat rack and put some more DC wiring and accessory ports in the tiny house on wheels.
I had gone to the tag sale at the local auction house a month or so ago and found some nice deals. The day after the sale they were lettings things go for pennies on the dollar. I bought all the hardware, fasteners and misc junk in bulk for a few dollars.
Now I am happy that I did. I dug though all the jars of hardware and found two nice old antique coat hooks that would fit nicely on my homemade rustic barn wood coat rack.
I immediately took them inside and got to work. I centered the two rustic coat hooks on the homemade barn wood coat rack and tried it out.
I love it very much. This fits perfectly with the rustic look that I want to have in my tiny house.
Next I got to work putting in some more 12 volt DC accessory sockets in the tiny home living room. So far I had no DC power in the tiny house living room at all. The only power I had was an extension cord running from my power inverter under the kitchen sink through the entire tiny house and into my living room. This is how I keep my computer charged up.
I ran some 12 gauge wires up through the ceiling of the tiny house living room into the loft above. This is where the main 6 gauge wire ends. The large wire goes all the way through the tiny house loft and is hooked up to the solar battery bank.
I tied in a double cigarette lighter power socket and a single with two USB ports. These I screwed onto the living room barn wood shelf for now. I hope to eventually finish off the barn wood shelf with closed ends. The ends will serve the dual purpose of supporting the shelf and hiding the wires of my power accessory sockets.
I plan to have both AC and DC power sockets in the enclosure as well as my living room light switches.
I soldered all the connections and then taped up the ends to keep them safe and sound.
I finally have DC power in the tiny house living room.
Things are coming together nicely now.
