Nice Solar Output & Battery Updates & Some Packages Arrived

Wednesday and Thursday were both fairly nice and sunny days. The weather is getting warmer and the sun is rising in the sky. This means more solar power output with each passing day.

This week was all about resting and recovering from helping my friend move on the weekend with my broken rib. I hurt my back doing the job but I did spare my rib by using my lower back and hips to do the work.

The tiny house on wheels is being passively heated by the sun very nicely. It turned out very well. I close down the damper on the wood stove during the day just to keep the coals alive so that in the evening all I have to do is toss in more fire wood and open up the air flow.

I am boiling maple sap on the wood stove but it is a very slow process. I boiled down 2 gallons of sap to get 4 ounces of maple syrup in 48 hours on top of the tiny house wood stove.

The off grid tiny home solar forklift batteries are still not doing any better but I am experimenting with them to see what may be the problem.

I am getting nearly 3,000 total watt hours per day right now with the solar panels that I have hooked up.

I received a bunch of packages recently. One contained the maple tree taps I ordered. I am experimenting with tapping maple trees this year in order to become experienced for the real deal next year. I will have about 120 taps for next year if I can find enough trees on the property.

Someone sent packages to my parents address in Michigan and they finally arrived at my place. One of the items is an MPPT solar charge controller. It is not a true MPPT charge controller but if it converts the 24 volts from the solar panels to a usable 12 volts for my solar forklift battery then I will be very happy.

I plan to rewire the entire solar panel array soon to improve the overall solar power output. I need to have a total of three solar charge controllers and a wind charge controller in order to use all the solar panels I have on hand.
