It was a dark, gray day but my solar panels were producing enough solar power to keep the forklift battery charged up nicely.

I went out to check on the chickens and found a nice surprise. My new hens are laying eggs. I collected five various eggs this day. My hens are all stressed a bit due to the addition of the new chickens so egg laying is sporadic right now. But they will recover and then all my hens will soon be laying eggs daily.

I got two large standard white eggs, probably from the white hens. And three smaller eggs from the new hens. These are all smaller breeds so their eggs are also smaller. Now I have my own easter egg collection with all these various colored eggs.

I had a look on the old golf cart batteries in the off grid solar powered RV. I have my two newer golf cart batteries on the HF solar panels and solar charge controller. The four older, badly sulfated batteries are currently connected to my Bedini motor battery desulfator.

The exciting news is that my old golf cart batteries are sitting at 12.63 volts. This is quite a surprise because previously they never got above 12.46 volts max. This means that these old golf cart batteries are slowly desulfating and may be back in service in the off grid RV soon.

Someone sent me a book on suburban survival. This is quite a good book with a lot of useful information about survival. This is not a doom and gloom book but more meant to prepare people for a full economic collapse and also for any storm or natural disaster than may come along.
