Huge Surprise & Putting Rafters On My Off Grid Solar Shed

I have a surprise for you all today. John is back!!!! After a long time away, John has returned to The Off Grid Project to help out for a couple days. We put the rafters on the tiny house shed.

John arrived around lunch time and we got to work pulling the last of the 2x6 planks out of the woods for the off grid storage shed rafters. These were from the barn wood pile.

I had spent the morning sorting through the barn wood trying to pull out enough boards for us to use on the solar battery bank shed.

When John arrived we carted them out of the woods and got to work.

It was an entire day of work removing nails from the barn wood. Then marking the boards and cutting them to use as rafters on the shed.

But finally we got them all up on the roof of the off grid storage shed and nailed into place with my framing nailer.

We also got my rain water collector back in place. We had to remove it in order to work on the shed roof.

It was raining and immediately you could hear water running into the rain water collection tank.

John will be back in the morning to help finish the roof. We plan to put bracing in between each rafter to support the roofing metal better.

Thank you John for helping out. It was good to see you again.

Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe, Like and Share
