Installing 2nd Solar Charge Controller In My Tiny Home Pt 2

This is the second part of the new solar charge controller installation. I am installing another solar charge controller in my off grid tiny house.

After preparing the electrical conduits for my battery wires I put a bolt in each one and secured it tightly with a nut. Now I have a place to fasten each of my wires entering and leaving the solar charge controllers.

These will be the main battery wires. I can now easily connect or remove wires in safety with no danger of shorting the battery wires together.

I had to go to town to get some crimp on connectors in order to finish the job because I am making my own wires for this project. I am connecting the tiny house solar charge controllers properly and securely.

Next I had to cut the main battery wires and put them into the conduits. Then I had to make some wire leads which go from the conduit to each charge controller. There are two wires for each, plus and minus.

I also had to rewire the solar panels. Now I have two sets of solar panels. One goes to the MPPT solar charge controller and the other goes to my new PWM solar charge controller.

I also had to run the battery voltage sense wires. I waited until after dark for this because I needed every bit of energy I could harness from the sun for my tiny house.

I also tidied up the wires and used plastic zip ties to hold them neatly together.

I am very satisfied with the installation of my new solar charge controller.

Unfortunately I have no way of knowing how much power is coming out of the new solar charge controller without spending $100 on a meter for the face of it. This would not be worth it so I am going to buy one off ebay. I will get a simple inline volt and amp meter.
