Off Grid Homesteading Alone Can Be Tough Sometimes

It has been raining and snowing for days. I am not feeling too well. But life on the homestead must go on. Times like this make you really think about what it must be like to have a family on the off grid homestead.

The air pressure is quite heavy right now and that puts pressure in my sinuses. This makes me feel sick. I am not sick like with a bug or virus or anything. Its just air pressure. It cannot equalize in my head.

Times like this make me really think about all the families living off the grid or on a homestead.

Life must go on. The chores do not wait. The animals must be taken care of. There are no days off on the off grid homestead.

It really makes you think a lot.

I have come a long way in the past three years though and have much to be thankful for. I went from a freezing cold camper to an RV and now a tiny house on wheels which is warm and cozy.

I have a fridge with food in it which I did not have three years ago. I have a freezer now stocked with deer that I got and processed myself. Things have certainly changed out here on the off grid homestead.

I am still alone yet though. For now. Melanie will soon be here by my side. But days like today are hard.

My rain water collection tanks are filling up nicely though with all this rain. But I have not seen the sun in days so I may have to fire up the little HF generator for a while.
