Emptying Storage Tent To Make Room For The Off Grid Battery Room

I spent a considerable amount of time sorting out my boxes in the storage tent. I have to remove the tent which is next to the tiny house so I can build the insulated room for my water tanks and solar battery banks.

The storage tent holds the full contents of my last normal home. I had all the appliances and comforts of a normal household. I had a rice cooker, break machine, slow cooker, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, hot places, coffee machines, blender and much more. Plus all the utensils, pots, pans, containers and all that goes with a full sized kitchen. I love to have a fully loaded kitchen. I prefer to have all the tools on hand when I cook or bake. Being alone most of my life I had to learn to cook and bake for myself anyway.

Now that I have been off the grid all these years I realize that I will never go back on the grid. I will never use all these power hungry appliances again. I have had to adjust and learn to use power saving methods for each thing that I do out here on the off grid homestead.

So I am sorting through the boxes I had in the storage tent. I am choosing what will go into the tiny house on wheels and what will be given away or sold later.

When the storage tent is empty I will move it away from the tiny house and begin construction of the new insulated and heated water and battery room.

This winter I plan to have hot and cold running water. I also plan to have my battery bank insulated and protected from the elements. This will extend the life of the batteries and allow them to operate at full capacity even in the dead of winter.

I worked long past dark on this day. I just want to get the job done.
