Happy Off Grid Homestead Deals For The Passive Solar Porch

I did not get much work done around the homestead the first part of the day because I ended up helping a friend in need. But for that, I got a huge blessing afterward.

I had to pick up a friend the other day from the hospital. He was being released and I went to get him. The hospital took their time though and I spent half a day away.

But when I got to his place, his truck bed was full of windows and doors.

I had been wanting to build a greenhouse with matching windows. Many people use mixed windows. Some look good and some do not. I did not want to risk making an ugly mess so I was holding out for a matched set for my greenhouse/passive solar porch.

Here I got exactly what I needed. My front wall will be 34 feet long. There are 32 feet of windows and doors.

I have four 4 foot wide widows with frames and two 3 foot wide doors with hinges and frames.

Each window has two panes of glass and a window screen. Exactly what I wanted to allow the heat out of the solar porch in summer.

This is so perfect!!

I immediately put the windows and doors away on a pallet neatly so they are out of the way and not junking up my yard.

I hope to be starting on the porch next week if all goes well with the off grid solar battery shed.

I gave away a whole truck load of scrap metal from the garbage pile. We had cleaned up the entire meadow on Saturday and I have a pile of garbage to dispose of now. I sorted out the metal and gave it away.

My truck is dead and will most likely not be running again this winter.

The guy also took some of the wood that was sitting out by the entry of my property. The owners of the adjoining property used to dump garbage out there. I want it cleaned up because that is the first thing you see when you come to my place.
