ThruNite TI4 Tactical Penlight Long Term Torture Test

I have been testing out the ThruNite TI4 tactical penlight for a while now and here are my final thoughts.

This penlight has been my every day carry (EDC) the entire time. It has become my favorite penlight for my EDC bag.

I have taken it out on hiking and survival trips as well as for daily use on the off grid homestead.

I love the firefly mode. At first I thought I would never use it but when you are at camp or in a survival situation you do not need or want a very bright light. And the firefly mode has a very long battery life so it is the best for camp.

When cooking meals in camp I clipped the light to my hat and just used it like a super efficient headlamp for hours. I even set up camp using just this light.

Out in the woods on the homestead the ThruNite TI4 tactical penlight is very good for lighting up the night. I can see to the far side of the meadow. This is great for spotting predators in the night.

This light has 4 functions. It has the firefly mode, medium and high beam. Plus it has a flashing mode.

I like the soft press of the power button on the back of the light to switch easily through modes. Or you can turn the end to switch through modes. The third way to swap modes is to hard press the on/off switch.

After extensively testing this light in the field and every day use I decided to try it for its waterproof claims. They say it is waterproof so I left it outside during a thunderstorm. I tossed it into a mud puddle a couple inches deep and left it overnight.

When I returned the next day, the water had drained off left the light laying there soiled. I was worried because I have become attached to this light during the testing period.

I was very pleased to see that it works just fine after being in the water all night.

This tactical penlight comes with extra O rings in the box in case you ever need them. That is a rare bonus that you just do not see these days.
