Channel Restored ~ What Happened ~ How ~ Why

Please read this. My channel has been restored. Here are the details of what happened. The video description contains much more detail.

A certain party have been conspiring to shut me down for a while now. I know who they are because they openly plot against me and then brag about the results or who called what authorities on what date.

This time I saw the planning to attack my logo for a false copyright claim. The claim was that someone else drew the logo I use for The Off Grid Project.

The videos targeted were specifically my T-shirt sales videos. The claimant listed "house with sun" as the copyrighted work.

Two strikes came back to back with a third on the way for sure. I had to act fast to save my channel.

YT punishes first and then asks questions later. They greatly limited what I could do on my channel immediately and without warning.

If you get three strikes in a month, you lose your channel forever. I had two and the third was on the way. I know because the people planning it talked about it in the public comments.

I first made all my videos private so that nobody could make any claims against my channel at all. Next I edited any video with any reference to the shirt sales for the entire past year.

Next, to put at least a few videos up for you, I edited out the logo from a few videos and made them public again. This was to give a sign that I was still here.

I filed counter complaints against the fraudulent claims against my logo with YT.

I also wrote an email to the person making the claim against me, asking him to retract the claim out of court peaceably.

Next I went to the YouTube support pages and sent them an email detailing everything that happened, including screen prints of the plans from my attackers and their comments against my channel and my subs.

At the same time, I am sure that many of you were praying for me as well as reporting to YouTube what you know of the situation.

I worked until 4 am this morning, straight through and then was back at it again this morning at 7 am. I am still working to restore my videos at this time.

But - suddenly - the claims against my channel were removed and my channel was fully reinstated!!!! I have no idea why or how this happened.

My channel is cleared from all accusations against it.

A viewer found an image similar to the one I have in my logo. It is a public domain image that is very commonly drawn by grade school children. There are many images just like it on the internet. I remember drawing the cross in the window years ago when I made this logo. And I clearly remember drawing the sun and the wire to the house because this was tedious work for me. I am not a good freehand artist on the computer.

I share with you the public domain license for the image that is similar to the house in my logo. I show the website where it is hosted and the terms and conditions for this public domain, free image.

So, any claims against my logo are fraudulent. I drew the image on my own computer using Gimp, a free image drawing program.

I show, in the video, the proper way to report harassment and attacks on YouTube. If you are attacked or harassed, do not talk to trolls. Do not fight back. Do not deal with them at all. Rather use the proper YouTube reporting methods and let YouTube deal with them legally and according to their terms and conditions.

If someone attacks your channel fraudulently, file a counter notification immediately and then contact YouTube with any supporting evidence that you may have to back your case.

I will continue to upload my videos as usual here. For the future I will see about a backup channel somehow.
