Moving Chicken Coops @ The Off Grid Homestead

We are moving the chickens out of the meadow at the homestead to beautify the place. It is a lot of work clearing the trees for a space for the birds in the first place. Its another big job to move each chicken coop.

We moved two chicken coops so far. The rabbit hutch was the easy one. It fit right on the trailer and we moved it over next to the Bantam chickens.

The next chicken coop was very hard to move. This was the heavy pallet wood chicken coop I built last year. I first fixed it up where a tree had fallen on it and then we brought over the trailer using the old garden tractor.

The chicken coop is larger than the trailer so we ended up standing the chicken coop on its side up in the air. Chris rode the trailer over on while making sure the chicken coop did not fall. Melanie stood by in case of emergency and held the camera for us.

We managed to get the chicken coop over where we wanted it but a huge rock and some trees were in the way.
